Artist Bio
Born 1986 in the cozy Townsville of North Queensland, Australia, I spent the first 6 years of my life living a blur. 1992 my family and I moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where I spent 8 years seeing and breathing in new things... and aside from leading a generally sheltered life, became a fairly open and easy to talk to person. I spent my childhood years (I consider childhood 0 - 13) smiling and learning in what I consider to be the best school in the world, J.I.S. (Jakarta International School), and thanks to that experience that I am very luck to have had, I now have friends all over the place. But that kinda sucks too, as I miss them all far too much.
The 2nd of January, 2000 saw my family and I moving back to Australia, only this time to what is dubbed 'the most isolated city in the world', Perth of Western Australia. This was a very... mind bending experience for me, which I won't get in to. But let us say that it triggered what slowly began to grow into the art that you see here today. School in Perth was certainly a change, and that also held quite the influence on me, as I, due to lack of anything better to do, started to delve into the world of comics, and rediscovered the likes of Ghost Rider and X-men, and was introduced to Spawn.
Now as far as comics go... up until now, I'd have to say my biggest influences there would have been Spawn, Johnny The Homicidal Maniac, and Ghost Rider. But during my last two years of school, I underwent the soul destroying torment that is called Art TEE . Through that I was introduced to such artists as Magritte, Salvador Dali and Escher. I'd already known of Giger, and I'd say all of them affected, to some degree, the way I create what I create.
2003 I graduated from school (thank christ) and job hunting did not go so well, so I went and spent the majority of 2004 waltzing through a 6 month Animation Diploma course at the FTI in Fremantle (Fremantle Film & Television Institute). This year I was studying at Central TAFE in Perth, doing a Certificate IV in Graphic Design, and have recently strayed from that (did not appreciate their teachings or ideas), and am working on getting my works out there as a freelance artist, and hopefully moving into designing shirts and other things.
